Find trials
How to use the search function
On the "Find trials" page of the Navigator, you can choose as many or as few search criteria as you want. For each search criteria you choose, results are automatically displayed on the map. You can:
- Select one or several "diseases": myeloma, smouldering myeloma (SMM), monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) or AL amyloidosis.
- For myeloma, you can select a "treatment line" (e.g. newly diagnosed or relapsed /refractory).
- Select one or several "recruitment status" of interest. For example, if you are only interested in trials which are currently enrolling, tick the "recruiting" box.
- Choose one or several countries of interest by selecting from the drop-down "Country" menu or by typing a country of interest and then selecting it.
- Press the "near me" button to search for clinical trials in the geographical area that your computer is located. Select a distance using the "kilometre radius slide bar". To allow the Navigator to do this you will be asked to provide permission either for one session at a time (select "Just this time") or for whenever you are using the Navigator ("Allow"). You have the option not to do this (select "Block").
How to use the advanced search
Use the "advanced search" mode of the Navigator to add more filters and obtain results according to study phase, study purpose, study type or randomisation. To reset the filters and start a new search, click on "reset filters" icon found at the top right of the filter list.
How to use the keyword search
You will find the keyword search in the list of filters. Type one or several keywords in the "Search Keywords..." text box, separated by a space. Search results will appear as you type.
How to use the map
The map provides an interactive view of European countries where clinical trials included in the Navigator have trial sites. There are two ways you can use the map:
1
View the results of a search
The map displays trial sites that match the search criteria you selected using the search function.
2
Search for trials by location
You can search for trials based on location by clicking on a geographical area of interest on the map.
Using the map
On the map, circles indicate clusters of trial sites within a geographical area.
The number within the circle shows how many trial sites are located in that area.
Click on a circle in the area you are interested in to zoom in. As you zoom in, the map will show more detail and individual trial sites will become visible.
When you zoom in far enough to see individual trial sites, these sites will be displayed as coloured bars. The colour of the bar indicates the recruitment status of the trials at that site:
Green: at least one trial is actively recruiting participants at the site.
Grey: at least one trial has not yet started recruiting participants, but is expected to start recruiting at a later date. And no trial is actively recruiting at the site.
Red: all trials at the site are currently not recruiting.
Click on an individual trial site to open a pop-up box listing all the trials being conducted at that site.
Click on a trial of interest to view its study details in a pop-up box.
How to see search results
Clinical trials matching the search are displayed on the right-hand side of the map in the "results" panel. The list can be collapsed using the top left-hand icon next to "Results". The full list of trials can be printed using the print icon located on the right-hand next to "Results". To look at a trial, click anywhere on the trial details and a pop-up will show all the relevant information.
